The Old Town and New Town districts of Edinburgh were listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1995. There are over 4,500 listed buildings within the city. In May 2010, it had a total of 40 conservation areas covering 23% of the building stock.
These are the two main areas of Edinburgh: they have a different history, structure and buildings, and maybe they share some elements.
